We hold ourselves and our products to exceptionally high quality standards. Before any food or wellness product hits our shelves, we invest time and energy to rigorously review its ingredients, production methods, and other characteristics.
Our buying standards allow us to:
- Fulfill the philosophical intent of our Mission Statement and our Ends (organizational goals)
- Return value to our members
- Identify and replace products that fall short of our standards, as higher quality options become available
- Meet the needs and desires of our members and guests (quality, variety, pricing, etc.)
- Evaluate the environmental, agricultural, health and social/justice issues that surround food, products and food methods
- Identify and replace products that fall short of our standards, as higher quality options become available
Our Product Priorities
When sourcing any product, our Department Managers and Buyers prioritize:
- Local, certified organic
- Non-certified local products that meet our product standards
- Certified, organic products (non-local)
- Non-GMO Project verified products
