Soaked Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

By soaking the oats overnight, you break down the antinutrients and the minerals are released, making the oats more digestible. These oats will keep you full all the way to lunch!

1 cup oats
1 cup filtered water
pinch sea salt
1 apple, chopped fine
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter
Optional: maple syrup

  1. Soak oats in water overnight.
  2. In the morning, saute the apple in butter in a medium saucepan until softened, about 8 minutes. Stir in soaked oats, cinnamon, sea salt, and ½ cup more water. Bring to a simmer and cook over low heat for about 5 minutes. Serve with more butter and maple syrup.
