Ham and Cheese Mini Calzones

Just like a ham and cheese roll-up, only more elevated, and just as easy to make! These back-to-school calzones delight both children and parents alike, perfect for accompanying lunches, or at home easy meal solutions.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ball frozen pizza dough, thawed, rested, as per package instructions
  • 6-8 oz chopped ham
  • 6-8 oz cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese, shredded
  • flour for dusting
  • optional: mustard
  • optional: 1 beaten egg

Instructions:

  1. Heat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
  2. Divide the dough into 4 pieces and roll out into circles about 7 inches wide on a floured surface. Divide the ham and cheese among the circles. If desired, add a small dollop of any kind of mustard on top of the ham and cheese.
  3. Fold the dough over the filling and either press down with a fork or tuck and fold the edges under, pinching the end to make sure it’s sealed. Place calzones on the prepared pan and brush the tops with the beaten egg. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until light golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.
