Pizza Dough Garlic Breadsticks
1 ball whole wheat pizza dough
1-2 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
sea salt
- Bring the dough ball to room temperature.
- Heat oven to 425°F. Knead briefly on a floured surface. Roll out the dough into a rough rectangle about 12 inches long and 8 inches wide. Don’t worry if it’s more of an oblong circle.
- Cut the dough into 12 strips using a pizza cutter, bench scraper, or chef’s knife. Twist each piece a few times and place on a parchment or silpat-lined sheet pan. Brush sticks with olive oil and bake for 20 minutes until golden. Remove from oven.
- While the sticks are baking, melt the butter and mix in the garlic and onion powder and some sea salt. Use the same brush to brush the butter mixture onto the hot sticks. Serve immediately.
