Mulled Cider

1 gallon apple cider
1 orange, sliced
1 knob of fresh ginger, sliced cross-wise
5 cinnamon sticks
6 cardamom pods
1 teaspoon whole cloves

Add all ingredients to a large pot or crock pot. If making on the stovetop, bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat, strain, and serve. If using a crock pot, add all ingredients to the pot and cook for 4 hours on low heat. Strain and serve.
