Just a few miles outside of Traverse City sits a quiet marketplace with immaculate views of rolling fields and orchards. In good weather, you’ll find more than a few bicycles parked near the entrance; cyclists enjoy winding their way up the Leelanau Trail before resting with a baked good or a beer.
It’s a beautiful scene; it’s Farm Club. It grew from a good idea to one of the best restaurants in Leelanau County in just a few short years, but it’s playing all sorts other cards as well. Today, Farm Club boasts a bakery and market, plus a thriving brewery. The farm is still there, of course, supporting its own restaurant and bakery needs and a growing list of CSA veggie subscriptions.
Down on the Farm
Farm Club focuses on cultivating a culture of sustainable, responsible farming and creating a place for the community to come together. With just roughly 10 acres under cultivation, it’s a delight knowing the dish you ordered at the restaurant likely came within a mile or two of the table. From carrots to salad mix and eggplant to scallions, it’s an intentional effort to be ecologically and socially responsible – not to mention delicious!
