Apple Pecan Blondies with Maple Cinnamon Glaze
1 stick butter, melted
1 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup tart apple, chopped fine
½ cup pecans, chopped
Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Heat oven to 350°F. Coat a 8 x 8 baking pan with cooking spray.
- Mix the butter and brown sugar until blended and smooth. Add the egg, vanilla, salt, and flour and mix until combined. Stir in the chopped apples and pecans.
- Spread batter into prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until the center is set. Let cool. Whisk together the glaze ingredients and spread over blondies.
