Oryana’s August Groceries for Good recipient is the Northwest Michigan Invasive Species Network. On Thursday, August 21st, Oryana will give 2% of profits from both stores and encourage shoppers to round up their purchases to support Invasive Species Network.
The Northwest Michigan Invasive Species Network (ISN) is a Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) and 501(c)(3) organization serving Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau & Manistee Counties. ISN’s mission is to “Protect, enhance, and promote Northwest Michigan’s natural communities through terrestrial invasive plant management and outreach”. ISN has evolved since its founding in 2005 and was housed within the Grand Traverse Conservation District until 2023 when it was the first CISMA in the state to become a nonprofit and moved into their own offices. ISN works directly with over 60 partners to provide education and management of invasive species and is entirely grant and donation funded. Find out more about ISN at www.HabitatMatters.org.
